About Strait Road Press
Strait Road Press is an independent Evangelical imprint committed to serving the church through thoughtful, biblically faithful writing. Founded and written by William J. Laurence, the press exists to pursue a more faithful understanding and knowledge of God as He has revealed Himself in Holy Scripture.
Our conviction is simple: the Christian imagination must be shaped by Scripture, not by the shifting sentiments of the age. We aim to publish with a clarity and honesty that resists the tendencies of modern christian sentimentalism, returning instead to the strong, unembellished witness of the biblical text.
What We Do
Through essays, commentary, theological reflections, and occasional long-form works, we explore and challenge the cultural assumptions shaping contemporary Christian life. Our desire is to help readers rediscover a more faithful vision of God — one that informs how we think, worship, work, disciple our children, and love.
Recovering Forgotten Wisdom
On occasion, in addition to original writing, Strait Road Press seeks to republish rare or out-of-print works in the public domain that deserve fresh attention. These are often older papers, sermons, or theological reflections whose clarity and insight remain valuable for today’s church.
Our Location & Aim
From our home in rural New Zealand, we publish with a commitment to craft, conviction, and the transformative power of Scripture. Our hope is to help Christians walk with steadfastness in an unsettled age — growing in fearless obedience and deeper communion with our God and Saviour.
Strait Road Press exists to honour Christ, build up the saints, and bear witness to the truth with beauty and integrity.
